TALENT TO SHOWCASE ETHICAL LOOKS ON 89TH ACADEMY AWARDS ® RED CARPET

Emma Roberts (Hi-Res)

Los Angeles, CA (February 16, 2017) – The eco-friendly campaign Red Carpet Green Dress (RCGD) is pleased to announce that critically acclaimed actresses Emma Roberts and Priyanka Bose will be supporting the initiative this year. The actresses will wear exclusive pieces from Atelier Swarovski’s first fine jewelry collection, which will launch at the 89th Academy Awards ®, and will also be dressed in ethical gowns.

Founded by Suzy Amis Cameron – actress, environmental advocate, educator and wife of director James Cameron – Red Carpet Green Dress works with internationally acclaimed designers each year to dress stars in ethical eveningwear and jewelry for the Academy Awards®.

“It is so exciting to be partnering with Atelier Swarovski for our Red Carpet Green Dress campaign this year and have such strong women like Emma Roberts and Priyanka Bose stand behind us,” said Amis Cameron. “We have the scope for massive global impact and together can help spread the important message of sustainability. Furthermore, we aim to stir conversation and encourage those we reach to join the movement. It is wonderful to have the support of an organization, like Swarovski and women like Emma and Priyanka who hold such a prominent place in the fashion world, who share my vision to create more consciously, to positively impact the environment and make the world a better place for our children to grow up in. Together we truly can make a difference.”

Bose is an internationally celebrated model/actress who plays “Kamla Munshi” in the feature film “LION” alongside Dev Patel, currently nominated for six Academy Awards, including “Best Motion Picture of the Year.”

Emma Roberts is an undeniable talent known for her diverse roles in films such as “Palo Alto,” “We’re the Millers,” and the upcoming “Billionaire Boys Club”. Roberts currently stars as ‘Chanel Oberlin’ in the Fox comedy-horror series “Scream Queens,” from the minds of “Glee” creators Ryan Murphy, Brad Flachuk and Ian Brennan.

Nadja Swarovski, Member of the Swarovski Executive Board, also commented: “We are delighted to partner with Red Carpet Green Dress for the 2017 Academy Awards-inspired initiative. The red carpet at the Oscars is an iconic moment in the fashion and cultural calendar, and as a company with a deep commitment to sustainability, we are very pleased to collaborate with Suzy and her team to help bring conscious luxury further into the spotlight.”

Since its inception in 2009, Red Carpet Green Dress’ sustainable designs have been worn by countless stars at the Oscars including Naomie Harris, currently nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for “Moonlight,” “Twilight” star Kellan Lutz, Jake McDorman (“American Sniper”), Missi Pyle (“Gone Girl”), Gina Rodriguez (“Jane the Virgin” and Sophie Turner (“Game of Thrones”). It is due to the aid of partners, such as Atelier Swarovski, and annual contests that financial security can be provided to MUSE School CA, an environmental non-profit educational organization Amis Cameron founded in Calabasas, Calif., with her sister Rebecca Amis. This assistance enables students to access a transformative educational experience. MUSE School CA ensures small class size, personalized instruction and learning practices; all set within an inspiring and beautiful campus. Through these key elements, MUSE School CA paves the way in creating leaders of the future. For more information, go to www.museschool.org.

Designing Change

Red Carpet Green Dress is a sustainable fashion design campaign, raising awareness about the global impact of the fashion industry on people and the planet.

The short video ‘Designing Change’ follows Suzy Amis Cameron’s Red Carpet Green Dress campaign from its inception with the Avatar press run in 2009 through to the recent Oscars ceremony in 2016, which saw Sophie Turner and Lily Cole walk the carpet as ambassadors. The video highlights the sustainable fashion journey—the pitfalls, challenges and creative solutions—as talented teams create red carpet-worthy dresses each year for ambassadors, such as Naomie Harris, Gina Rodriguez and Missi Pyle, to grace the Academy Awards’ red carpet. With design teams, sponsors, partners, students and experts alike, including the iconic Dame Vivienne Westwood, Penny Walsh and the Royal School of Needlework, the video showcases a committed network of fashion partners. Narrated by Campaign Director Samata Pattinson.
