RED CARPET GREEN DRESS LAUNCH PARTY

As style fiends rub their hands in glee over this week’s pre-Oscar fashion parade, Suzy Amis Cameron, wife of James Cameron, took the opportunity Thursday night to relay an important message about the importance of sustainable clothing on the red carpet. On 27th February 2014 Red Carpet Green Dress celebrated 5 years of sustainable fashion in Hollywood. Suzy Amis Cameron hosted an evening of cocktails, canapes and silent auction. The event was sponsored by Lux & Eco, Previse SkinCare, Veev, Haute Chefs and more. In attendance at the celebration were Suzy Amis Cameron, James Cameron, Kellan Lutz, Naomie Harris, Amber Valletta, Samata Angel Pattinson, Rebecca Amis, Jeff King and more.

Holding court at West Hollywood’s Palihouse, friends and family joined the passionate activist and her husband to celebrate the five-year anniversary of her Red Carpet Green Dress campaign, which promotes the importance of eco-friendly fashion through an annual design competition, with proceeds going toward her nonprofit school, MUSE School CA.

Sporting a sustainably designed long black dress from L.A.’s Reformation, Amber Valletta, who recently debuted her own socially responsible lifestyle brand and website, Master and Muse, echoed Harris’ sentiments about eco-friendly clothing, and her admiration for fellow Oklahoman Cameron’s message. “I’m definitely trying to incorporate a lot more of this into my wardrobe,” she said.

Kellan Lutz and Olga Kurylenko Hit The Oscar Carpet For Suzy Amis Cameron’s Red Carpet Green Dress

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Kellan & Olga

Los Angeles, CA, March 2, 2014 – Kellan Lutz and Olga Kurylenko have hit the red carpet at the 86th Annual Academy Awards® to help support the fifth year of Suzy Amis Cameron’s eco-fashion campaign, Red Carpet Green Dress. Lutz wears the campaign’s first-ever tuxedo, which was designed by contest winner Jomnarn Dul from H Brothers, one of New Zealand’s most iconic menswear brands, while Kurylenko shows off a gorgeous red gown by womenswear category winner Alice Elia, a fashion student at ESMOD in Paris.

Kurylenko’s gown is made from 100% GOTS certified organic peace silk and 100% GOTS certified organic silk. It was first hand-dyed with Sappanwood – a legume which produces a reddish-colored dye and is sustainable due to its fast growth rate – then overdyed with madder root to give it a deeper shade of red. Her shoes are a first time collaboration between PETA and Beyond Skin, a UK-based ethical footware and fashion label, for Red Carpet Green Dress. The vegan, faux suede, metallic-trimmed shoes are made from Dinamica, a durable material made in Italy from 100% recycled bottle tops. Read more
